PGK Dance presents Holding Tight

Showing:   March 21 - 22, 2020
Where: Lyceum Stage

PGK DANCE in “Holding Tight” features Kymberly Kellems’ new work “Foreign”, an intricate, compelling group work in her robust athletic, driving style that keeps audiences on the edge of their seat.

Shauna Tyser’s new work “EDGE” creates a fragile world where at any moment one push too far and it can break.

Unsicker Dance Collective from Portland, Oregon makes their California debut performing their critically acclaimed, audience favorite “Scrambled” to electronic music framing a forever landscape of complex duets for five revealing freshly, inventive vocabulary and luscious interactions.

Founding Director, Peter G. Kalivas reinvents his popular body percussion-based piece “The Sound of Dance” which highlights his own vocal prowess as a versatile singer during a duet with a tap dancer and forges the fun personalities audiences enjoy most about PGK DANCERS as their movements are enhanced by the amplified sounds they make.

The finale piece “Holding Tight” by Kalivas is one of his aggressively, more dramatic works that by all means does not let go of the sculpted quality and craft his award-winning works are known for. His direction pushes the dancers to their absolute thrilling end point.

PGK DANCE is “One of SoCAL’s BEST” says DANCE SPIRIT MAGAZINE
