Herbert Siguenza, Playwright and Director
HERBERT SIGUENZA (PLAYWRIGHT/DIRECTOR) is Playwright-In-Residence at The REP through a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. He is also a founding member of Culture Clash, the most popular and produced Latino ensemble in the nation. For the last thirty years, he has co-written or adapted and performed over fifteen original critically acclaimed award winning plays at prestigious regional theatres around the country. Theatre Communications Group Books has published three compilations of their collective works which includes Radio Mambo, Zorro in Hell! and Chavez Ravine. Siguenza has also written and performed solo works outside the group including Cantinflas! (2003), A Weekend With Pablo Picasso (2010), El Henry (2014), Steal Heaven (2015), Manifest Destinitis (2016), Beachtown (2018) and Bad Hombres/Good Wives (2019). Additionally, Mr. Siguenza recently directed Jose Rivera's Cloud Tectonics for New Village Arts and his voice is featured in the Oscar nominated animated film Coco.

Salomon Maya as "Benny Ramos-Leibowitz, Councilperson"
Salomón Maya regional acting credits include: Bad Hombres/Good Wives, Beachtown, Manifest Destinitis (San Diego REP); El Henry (La Jolla Playhouse/San Diego REP); A Kind of Weather (Diversionary Theatre); Church (InnerMission Productions); A Permanent Image (Point Loma Playhouse); A Bright New Boise, Coyote on a Fence (OnStage Playhouse). Salomón is also a local playwright and his regional playwrighting credits include: anomaly.exe (Scripps Ranch Theatre); Splitting Adam, Gridlock, The Mudanza (Teatro Punto y Coma). Salomón has also been a featured standup comic at various regional clubs including the world-famous Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles. Salomón is an Emmy® winning writer/producer for a local television station and advertising agency, a monthly columnist for L’Chaim San Diego Magazine, and a proud board member for the NTC Foundation at the Arts District in Liberty Station.

Antonio "TJ" Johnson as "Damon Haynes, Resident"
Antonio “TJ” Johnson is very excited about returning to the Rep Stage and BEACHTOWN. Appearing on this stage in numerous productions including SWEAT, numerous times in A Christmas Carol, including The Homeless Carol, The Gospel According to Scrooge and the infamous Sledgehammer Xmas. TJ also appeared in Ruby’s Bucket of Blood, Hamlet and King Lear. Awards include the 1991 Dramalouge Award, the 2008 Craig Noel Award for Best Actor, a Playbill Award, and the 2016 Craig Noel Ensemble Award. This production of Beachtown will be a new exciting adventure as we zoom into your homes and hearts and hopefully raise your spirits to help carry you thru this singular extraordinary time.

MARCI ANNE WUEBBEN (Donna French) Marci was last seen in Diversionary Theatre’s premiere of A Kind of Weather as Janice. Lucinda in The Mystery of Love and Sex, and Woman One in The Loneliest Girl in the World ( Diversionary Theatre). She was an original cast member of Beachtown at the San Diego Repertory Theatre and is excited to recreate her role of Donna French in Beachtown Live. A veteran performer, favorite Regional Credits include: a five year stint as an original cast member of the long running 80's hit, Mixtape (Lamb's Players Theatre), Tessie Tura in Gypsy, Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music (Cygnet Theatre); Pump Boys and Dinettes, Boomers (Lamb's Players Theatre); The Full Monty (San Diego Musical Theatre); The Magic Fire (KPBS Award), I Do! I Do!, Radio Gals (Moonlight Stage Productions); She Loves Me (Laguna Playhouse); Anything Goes, FootLoose (Welk Resort Theatre); Company (Performance Riverside); I Hate Hamlet ( The Broadway Theatre).
